Balad Chairman Azmi Bishara announced Thursday evening that he planned to resign from his Knesset post following what he branded "persecution" against him. "Is it possible that a parliament member is subjected to such persecution," he asked during an interview with Nazareth based Hadit-a-nas. Bishara said that he had exhausted his parliamentary skills and that is what prompted his decision. "I did what I could with these skills. Eleven years is enough for me," added the MK.
