Border police shoot Palestinian near Bethlehem

Border police opened fire Sunday evening at a Palestinian who drove up to a checkpoint near Bethlehem, wounding him. According to the IDF, the man refused to undergo a security check and began to flee, after which the police shot at his lower body. An ambulance evacuated him to an Israeli hospital for treatment. Searching the man's vehicle, the border police found a knife and two metal rods.
