Labor Party secretary MK Eitan Cabel told Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Wednesday that his party had agreed to Israel Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman's suggestion to appoint an Israel Beiteinu representative to the post of science, culture and sport minister - the position recently filled by Arab MK Ghaleb Majadle. According to Israel Radio, Cabel said Labor would agree to give up the science, culture and sport portfolio in exchange for the social affairs portfolio. The discussion on whom to appoint to ministerial posts was still continuing.
