Cabinet approves appointment of Gabriela Shalev to Israeli envoy to the UN

The cabinet has approved the appointment of Gabriela Shalev to Israeli Ambassador to the UN, in the place of outgoing ambassador Dan Gillerman.
Shalev is currently the rector of the Ono Academic College and an expert in contract law. She would be Israel's first woman ambassador to the UN.
Gillerman has served as the Israeli envoy to the UN for the last five-and-a-half years.
