Two people were killed after an explosion went off in a car in Lod overnight Monday. Police estimate that the incident was criminally motivated. Both of the victims had police records.
An initial investigation into the event found that the blast occurred after an explosive device was attached to the vehicle which was moving during the blast. Police noted that such a large quantity of explosives was used that the two were immediately killed.
Police have set up roadblocks in the entrances and exits to the town in an effort to track down those responsible for the blast.
