The Special Tasks Department of the State Comptroller's Office, which investigates allegations of corruption in real time, is looking into information connected to Labor Party leader Amir Peretz, spokeswoman Shlomit Lavi confirmed on Monday.
Lavi declined to comment on the suspicions that have been raised against Peretz.
During the current election campaign, however, allegations have been made that Peretz used the Histadrut trade union organization to pack Labor with enough followers to win the party leadership.
