Former deputy IDF chief of staff Maj.-Gen. (res.) Uzi Dayan on Monday morning called on the Israeli leadership to make a statement in response to Syrian allegations of an IAF overflight last week.
"The Israeli silence has started to exhaust itself," he told Army Radio.
He added that Israel had the right its silence as far as preventing "chatter" on the issue, but insisted that Israel must say something in order to calm down not only the situation, but also Israeli citizens.
