Former head of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) Avi Dichter said on Friday that Hamas needs to promptly change its stance, as it is now both a terrorist organization and part of the political process. He said that Hamas would not be able to lead the Palestinian people while it persisted with the type of extremism it has employed until now. "They need to define their status and choose which direction to take," Dichter said, adding, "They need to decide whether they want to go with Iran or Israel."
