Public Security Minister Avi Dichter told Israel Prisons Service Chief Warden Ya'acov Genot on Tuesday that Genot's Monday night decision not to accept the position of police chief would not detract from Dichter's respect for him.
"I have learned that with you, the word 'can't' doesn't exist, and I respect your decision" Dichter said at an IPS ceremony in Haifa.
Earlier, Genot's lawyer cited media attacks as the reason for the chief warden's departure.
