"I feel fine and am being treated well," kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit wrote in a letter to his parents, according to an Egyptian official, Maariv reported Monday morning.
"I hope to celebrate my next birthday at home," Shalit wrote. "I miss you and think about you a lot."
Officials in Jerusalem said the deal for Shalit's freedom was not yet near completion, Army Radio reported.
