Eilat Mayor Yitzhak Halevi will ask Attorney General Menahem Mazuz to examine the process that led to Friday's decision to close Eilat's beaches for bathing following a sewage leak.
Halevi claimed Sunday that tests carried out on the waters proved that the decision was wrong.
Israel Radio reported that the Health Ministry findings showed that the level of fecal bacteria in the waters was lower that five units to every 10 milliliters of water, 80 times less that the maximum permissible level.
