The Israeli Ethiopian community celebrated Jerusalem Day on Thursday by commemorating their 4,000 friends and relatives who perished on their long trek to Israel from their native Ethiopia.
The ceremony was attended by President Moshe Katsav and was held at Mt. Herzl in Jerusalem, as opposed to Kibbutz Ramat Rahel, where it was held in the past.
