Explosion rocks southern Gaza Strip, eight wounded

A car exploded in the southern Gaza town of Rafah after nightfall Wednesday, wounding at least eight people, Palestinian medical officials said. The cause of the blast wasn't immediately clear, but witnesses said there was an Israeli warplane flying overhead at the time. The IDF declined comment. Israel has promised tough retaliation for a suicide bombing that killed five people Monday in Netanya. Officials have said targeted killing of terrorists from Islamic Jihad, the group that carried out the attack, and renewed air strikes in Gaza were options being considered.
