Fatah and Hamas leaders agreed tonight to end the violence and calm the escalating situation, following a day in which three died and mortar shells were fired at Abu Mazen's offices. With the help of an Egyptian delegation, the parties managed to reach an agreement and expressed their hope that it will be put into action in the Strip. However, at this hour officials still report on violent clashes in the streets.
