Fischer: 40% of poor are Arabs and ultra-Orthodox

Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer said that according to a survey conducted by the Bank of Israel, 40% of Israel's poor are Arabs and ultra-Orthodox Jews. In a speech to the Israel Business Conference held at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv, Fischer added that the bank has developed a series of suggestions for the government for dealing with the poverty problem. The suggestions included both immediate and long-term measures.
