The Open House made a request on Sunday that the Israel Police allow them to hold a Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem.
Ayelet Snur, head of Open House, said that the event, which is scheduled to take place this June, is intended as an event for the gay community and as a demonstration of human rights. Snur commented on the importance of such an event in light of the violent outbreaks related to last year's event.
Orthodox representatives have already made their anger at the subject clear. The Pride Parade is normally held on a yearly basis in June, but last year due to the violent dispute the event was rescheduled to November and held in a closed stadium.
