Girl loses four fingers in butcher shop accident

A 14-year-old Hadera girl lost four of her fingers Thursday while working in a butcher shop in the city's industrial zone. The girl's mother, who works at the shop, asked her to place meat in one of the machines when the accident happened. She was evacuated for treatment to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera, and then transferred to Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv, where doctors will try reattaching her fingers. Hadera police have detained the owner of the butcher shop under suspicion of negligence.
