Hamas, Jihad condemn airstrike, but say truce efforts must proceed

Both Hamas and Islamic jihad vowed Thursday to avenge a deadly IAF airstrike in the Gaza Strip, but said that last-minute truce efforts must proceed.
Tuesday's airstrike, which killed five operatives in southern Gaza, came shortly after Hamas said they were close to cementing a cease-fire deal with Israel.
Hamas spokesman Ismail Ridwan accused Israel of trying to derail the cease-fire efforts, but added that his group remained open to a truce.
Islamic Jihad also said it was leaving the door open to a halt in fighting. The group added, however, that it would respond to the strike.
