Hamas expressed satisfaction with Israel's decision to release another 90 Palestinian prisoners ahead of Ramadan, but said that the future of the detainees must not lie in the hands of Israelis, Israel Radio reported.
Fauzi Barhoum, Hamas's Gaza spokesman promised that the group would continue to use "every method" to bring about the release of its prisoners in Israel. Barhoum added that the release of Fatah prisoners approved in Sunday's cabinet meeting would have no influence over a deal to free kidnapped IDF Cpl. Gilad Schalit.
Earlier reports, however, illustrated Hamas's disappointment in that Israel chose to release only Fatah prisoners and not those from its group.
