The IDF and Shin Bet announced Thursday morning that two explosive belts in the possession of a Nablus-based terror cell had been discovered and confiscated.
One of belts was worn by one of the cell members, Ashraf Hanani, who was arrested in Zahal Square in Jerusalem after he was stopped for a routine ID check. The second belt was discovered in the cell's headquarters.
Israel Radio reported that both belts contained unusually large amounts of explosives, and had they been detonated, would have had a disastrous effect.
