IDF completes yearly training exercise; simulates Hizbullah, Hamas attacks

The IDF completed its yearly commander's training exercise after five days of varied drills, Army Radio reported late Wednesday night. Scenarios included simulated attacks on Israel's northern border, including Syrian and Hizbullah attacks, as well as attacks from Hamas in the Gaza Strip. IDF reserves, navy, IAF, ground force and intelligence soldiers all took part in the exercise. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Ehud Barak also played roles in one of the simulated scenarios.
