IDF court jails soldier who didn't let woman in labor through crossing

Military court on Thursday sentenced the IDF commander of the Hawara Crossing to 14 days in prison and dismissed him from military service following his involvement in an incident in which a Palestinian woman was delayed at the IDF checkpoint and consequently, gave birth to a dead baby. The woman was on her way to a Nablus hospital last Thursday after having contractions. According to her husband, even when the baby's head was crowning, the soldiers at the crossing north of Jerusalem did not let the couple through. The Palestinian ambulance team that arrived at the scene could not save the newborn.
