A Palestinian gunman was killed and another wounded in a clash with IDF troops early Saturday at a refugee camp near Jenin in the West Bank, the army spokesman said. Army troops from the Maglan unit were on a mission to arrest fugitives when they were attacked by armed terrorists, the army said. The soldiers returned fire, killing one Palestinian and lightly wounding another. During the arrest operation, two Islamic Jihad members were detained, the spokesman said. On Friday, IDF forces arrested seven Palestinian fugitives throughout the West Bank. The fugitives included two Islamic Jihad operatives in Nablus and two Tanzim operatives in Kalandiya, north of Jerusalem.
