IDF soldiers shot and killed senior Islamic Jihad operative Hani Awijan on Saturday evening after Awijan, in an attempt to avoid arrest, opened fire at the troops, Israel Radio reported.
Awijan, a leader in the Islamic Jihad's military wing, was responsible for several terror attacks, including the Kedumim suicide bombing in which four Israelis were killed.
