Israel: IDF operation paving way for Lebanese army

A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem said Friday that the continued IDF operation in south Lebanon is meant to pave the way for the Lebanese army to take over the region. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's is expected to recommend on Sunday that the government accept the UN cease-fire agreement, but the army continues to battle Hizbullah in an effort to push it north of the Litani River.
