Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has promised to issue an official statement on the issue of the fuel tanks dropped in Turkish territory during the Israeli air strike in Syria on September 6, Army Radio reported Thursday.
The radio station cited Turkish media reports which claim that Olmert made the commitment during his meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in response to Erdogan's request to receive an explanation on the subject. The two met in London on Tuesday.
The information from the two leaders' conversation apparently came from Erdogan. Olmert has thus far refused to give details on the meeting.
