The Italian Chief of the Defense General Staff Adm. Gianpaolo Di Paola arrived for a two-day official visit with the Israeli defense establishment. While hosted by IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz, Di Paola is also slated to hold a working meeting with Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz. Senior IDF officers are to brief the Italian military chief on Israel's war on terror and he will also be taken for a tour of IDF bases. "The visit of the Italian Chief of the Defense General Staff represents an important component in the cooperation between the IDF and the Italian military," an IDF statement said.
