Jerusalem man suspected of raping daughters

A 39-year-old man was under arrest Tuesday for allegedly raping his two teenage daughters over the last three years, police said. The alleged rapist was apprehended after social workers filed a complaint with police after noticing that the girls' behavior had become strange. The man's two daughters, aged 14 and 15, told their school principal that their father would rape them at home when their mother was not there, Jerusalem police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said. The suspect, who was not cooperating with police and declared that he was not fit to stand trial, was remanded in custody by a Jerusalem court for eight days. The court found that he was fit to stand trial, police said.
