J'lem: Activists protest war outside US consulate

Several dozen Arabs and Jews protested Tuesday outside the US consulate in Jerusalem against the war in Lebanon, police said. Some of the Arab demonstrators at the late morning protest chanted slogans in favor of Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Police forces, which arrived at the scene and tried to detain the organizer of the demonstration, were attacked by the crowd, Jerusalem police spokeswoman Sigal Toledo said. Five protesters were arrested at the scene. No injuries were immediately reported.
