Some 1,500 police officers will be deployed around Jerusalem on Thursday and Friday, and several roads will be closed as the large march demanding the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit comes to the capital.The marchers are expected to reach Beit Shemesh on Thursday at 11 a.m., where they will be met by local officials and hold a protest at city hall.At 4 p.m., the marchers will gather on Route 1 at the Bayit Ha’adom junction and begin walking toward Jerusalem.The marchers, escorted by police vehicles and officers, will walk alonga sealed-off lane of traffic, and enter the city at around 5 p.m.,police said.They will pass through Gan Sakharov, before proceeding through thefollowing roads: Ben-Gurion, Shazar, Ben-Zvi, Bezalel, Bari, Hillel andMenashe Ben-Yisrael.The demonstrators will then arrive at Independence Park for a rally setto begin at 8 p.m, which is expected to last for two hours.The demonstrators will remain and hold various events in the capital on Friday.
