Junior lecturers to stage 'warning strike' on Thursday

The forum of university junior lecturers will hold a "warning strike" at Tel Aviv University on Thursday if they don't receive a positive response from the Council of University Presidents, with whom they have been negotiating with over the implementation of agreements signed between the two sides over the summer. If it goes through, the strike will see a disruption of classes at TAU between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a spokesman from the forum said. "If we don't receive a satisfactory response after that," the spokesman continued, "we will institute longer strikes in more universities until the agreements made in August are implemented." The junior lecturers are trying to achieve better terms of employment, including a switch from their hourly pay scale to a regular salary and more job security.
