Six soldiers suffer shock; Fayad: IAF attacks that killed 13 Gazans "a crime against the Palestinians."

Six female soldiers suffered from shock overnight Tuesday when a Kassam rocket fired from Gaza landed near an IDF installation in the Zikim area.
One of the soldiers fainted and was evacuated to Ashkelon's Barzilai Medical Center, Israel Radio reported. The other five received medical treatment at the scene.
Following the rocket attack, a high alert level was declared throughout the IDF bases in the area.
Moments earlier, a Kassam landed in an open area north of Sderot. Despite the fact that the warning system was not activated, no one was wounded and no damage was reported.
Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks. In total nine Kassam rockets and 12 mortar shells landed in southern Israel Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad called on the international community to intervene in order to stop Israel's escalation of air strikes in the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported Wednesday.
Fayad called the attacks "a crime and an act of aggression against the Palestinian people."
On Tuesday two Hamas operatives were killed when an IAF aircraft fired a missile at a Hamas post in southern Gaza, officials from the group said.
The IDF confirmed the strike and said it was carried out in response to the barrage of mortar shells fired by the group earlier Tuesday towards Kerem Shalom.
In a statement, the IDF reiterated that every attack on Israeli communities would be met with a response, in accordance with a policy recently approved by the cabinet.
