Police have launched a murder inquiry after a woman was found shot dead in her home in the Arab village of Kfar Kara, on the outskirts of Haifa on Tuesday. The woman, Naila Knaani, 34, a mother of two, is believed to have been shot while her children were out of her home. A media ban on the investigation issued by police has prevented the release of further details. Paramedics who arrived at the murder scene described a grizzly sight of a woman lying on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood. Subsequent attempts at resuscitation failed, leaving the paramedics with no choice but to declare her dead. The latest murder comes on the heels of the murder of Rosie Frieda, 48, by her former husband, released prisoner Jilber Frieda in Ashdod on Sunday. Eyewitnesses described how Frieda struck Rosie's head with a rock before stabbing her repeatedly after he arrived at her doorstep demanding to see the couple's children. A court restraining order had been in effect against Jilber.
