Jordan's King Abdullah telephoned Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Friday to congratulate him on forming a new government.
The two leaders made plans to meet after Olmert's scheduled visit to the US at the end of the month.
The newly-sworn in prime minister also received a congratulatory telegram from Russia President Vladimir Putin.
