Knesset Election Committee threatens to disband

The Central Election Committee threatened to disband Tuesday, in protest of a directive by Knesset Chairman Dalia Itzik that the committee would stop operating from the Knesset building in Jerusalem. Members of the committee said that if new elections were announced now, the committee would not have a place to work from. Judge Eliezer Rivlin, the committee's chairman, also threatened to resign if a solution would not be found. Itzik said the committee does damage to the building and that the directive aims to avoid this.
