The Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee discussed Tuesday the rape of a 13-year-old girl on an air force base a couple of months ago. IAF Commander Maj.-Gen. Eliezer Shkedy is expected to appear before the committee, Israel Radio reported. One soldier has been arrested and close to 30 soldiers, a noncommissioned officer and civilians are suspected of having illegal sexual relations with the daughter of a career air force man living on the base. The soldiers have reportedly confessed to having sex with her, but claimed that she told them she was 16, the legal age for consensual sex. The special committee meeting was called at the initiative of several female MKs led by Zehava Gal-On of Meretz.
