Knesset okays law on officers going into politics

The Knesset approved a new law on Monday prolonging the "cooling period" before IDF officers are allowed to enter into politics. The law, which was approved by a majority of 55 to 5, states that the period of time, which currently stands at half a year, has been increased to three years. Israel Radio reported that the new law is applicable to all officers serving in the security forces and not only IDF top brass.
