Knesset votes to extend Tal law by five years

The Kneseet approved the Tal law, allowing Yeshiva students the possibility not to enlist for duty service in the IDF, by another five years, Wednesday. 56 MKs voted to for extending the law, 9 MKs voted against and two abstained. Meretz MKs called the law a "shameful surrender" to the haredi community and pledged to fight its implementation in the Supreme Court.
