Lapid to A-G: Close political cases by elections

Shinui chairman Yosef "Tommy" Lapid asked Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz to conclude all legal proceedings involving politicians before the March 28 elections. In a letter to the attorney-general, Lapid wrote that MKs in the Kadima, Likud and Shas parties were suspected of criminal activities. It was unthinkable, he added, that the voter would be asked to vote for someone suspected of criminal activity and whose guilt or innocence would only be known after the elections.
