MK Zvi Hendel (NU/NRP) declared on Monday that left-wing MKs who supported the new Palestinian unity government because it was elected democratically were reminiscent of those who "cooperated with a murderous regime during a dark time based on a similar argument," Israel Radio reported. Meretz MK Zehava Gal-On called Hendel's remarks "incitement," saying that Hendel "hasn't realized that words give an authorization for physically harming left-wing Knesset members." In an interview with Israel Radio, Gal-On said that remarks such as Hendel's were "exactly the kind of incitement that preceded the murder of the prime minister."
