Livni: Israel not planning attack on Syria

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni on Thursday addressed Syrian concerns that Israel plans to attack the country, Israel Radio reported, saying that the IDF was conducting exercises and nothing more. Speaking at a publicized meeting with her Danish counterpart, Livni said, "Israel wants to live in peace with its neighbors, and Israel, unfortunately, has to be constantly prepared. The IDF's job is to protect Israeli citizens, and for this it must train, and for this exercises were created. It would be a shame for us to interpret this otherwise."
