Livni: PA gov't without Hamas can lead to talks

The establishment of a Palestinian Authority government which excludes Hamas can pave the way for the renewal of peace negotiations with Israel, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni told PA Prime Minister Salaam Fayad in a phone conversation Wednesday afternoon. Furthermore, Livni said that it was now possible to make progress on issues which were non-negotiable under the former PA unity government. Government officials in Jerusalem noted that Livni's phone conversation with Fayad was the first public contact between Israel and the new PA government.
