Livni decides: Enough extortion - we're going to elections

Kadima leader Tzipi Livni decided late on Saturday night to inform President Shimon Peres that she has not been able to put together a coalition, and that general elections should be organized in the next 90 days. "Enough extortion - we're going to elections," Livni apparently said to an associate at the end of a meeting with the Kadima negotiating team. Directly after the meeting Livni spoke with Labor chair Ehud Barak to update him on her decision. Livni will meet with Peres at his Jerusalem office on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
