Livni heads for US to meet Rice over Baker report

Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni left for the United States overnight Thursday to meet with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Livni's will be the first visit by an Israeli official since the release of the Baker-Hamilton report on Iraq, which calls for Israel to negotiate with Syria on the return of the Golan Heights. The foreign minister will attempt to find out whether the American administration plans to adopt the Baker report's recommendations.
