Lod mayor Benny Regev was questioned under warning on Sunday morning by the National Fraud Squad. Regev is suspected of accepting bribes from contractors in exchange for municipal bids.
Police investigators searched the Lod Municipality offices and confiscated documents, Israel Radio reported.
