Lod police find poppy field used to produce heroin

A field of poppies used for the production of heroin and opium was discovered near the entrance to Moshav Achishemer on Thursday.
Police found the field following a search carried out by detectives from the Lod police station. Dozens of the plants were uprooted and taken as evidence to the police station. Police have begun the process of locating suspects.
