Lt.-Gen. (res.) Lipkin-Shahak to head probe on war

Defense Minister Amir Peretz appointed on Wednesday former chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. (res.) Amnon Lipkin-Shahak to head an external inquiry commission that will investigate the IDF's management during the period before and during the war. Among the topics to be covered by the committee are the army's readiness for the campaign. The committee was expected to issue its conclusions within three weeks.
