Balad Party Chairman, MK Azmi Bashara was being investigated Monday morning by the police's Serious and International Crimes Unit for his recent visit to Lebanon where he spoke at an Arabic book fair. Dozens of Balad members escorted Bashara to the police offices in Petah Tikva and were protesting the investigation. Bashara praised the actions of Hizbullah and the "armed resistance" against Israel during his speech at the book fair. The High Court of Justice recently upheld his arguement that his immunity as MK protects him from such investigations.
