MK Moshe Sharoni denies forging documents, stealing funds

MK Moshe Sharoni of the GIL's Pensioners Party denied Thursday that he forged documents and withdrew funds from the party's coffers. Sharoni told Israel Radio Thursday morning that he was authorized on the party's accounts since its founding. Police recommended Wednesday that Sharoni and Eldad Gafni, a former GIL senior official, stand trial on suspicion that they stole funds from the party. State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss said Thursday morning that he had looked into the matter and did not see a reason to pursue it.
