The main entrance to Jerusalem via Highway 1 (Tel Aviv-Jerusalem route) will be closed to traffic on Thursday overnight starting at midnight, Israel Radio reported.
All traffic will be diverted to Highway 9 until the road reopens at 5 am.
The planned closure is due to the construction of a new bridge at the entrance to Jerusalem for the capital's light railway.
